Allegra Durante, Soprano
Allegra Durante is a lyric coloratura soprano who frequently performs with opera and theater companies in her hometown of New York City.
Her favorite roles have included Echo in Gluck's Echo et Narcisse, Morgana in Händel’s Alcina, Olympia in Offenbach’s Les Contes d’Hoffmann, Giulietta in Romeo & Giulietta, Papagena in Die Zauberflöte, Euridice and Amore in Orfeo ed Euridice, Josephine in H.M.S. Pinafore, and Aline in The Sorcerer.
Allegra's training as a singer, actress, and dancer has included programs in New York City, Germany, and Italy, plus invaluable experience working with opera companies in and around New York City. Her desire to understand the detailed and varied work that goes into making a production happen has led her to freelance as a costumer, movement coach, director, and producer.
In addition to opera and theater, Allegra works as a freelance print and digital media designer and photo editor, a background actor in movies and on TV, and as a facilitator for immersive theater experiences.
