Performing Arts

Ms. Durante is a performing artist who frequently works in opera, operetta, theater, and film in her hometown of New York City. She has been performing opera semi-professionally for ten years, taking on lead roles in operas by Mozart and Verdi and in numerous operettas by Gilbert & Sullivan, and performing in countless concert and pastiche performances in the U.S. and Germany. She has also sung and acted for Film & TV productions as a proud member of SAG-AFTRA, and acted in Immersive Theater experiences in NYC.

Allegra's training as a singer, actress, and dancer has included programs in New York City, Germany, and Italy, plus invaluable experience working with opera companies in and around New York City. Her desire to understand the detailed and varied work that goes into making a production happen has led her to freelance as a costumer, movement coach, director, and producer.

  • Opera & Operetta

    Ms. Durante’s favorite operatic roles have included Oscar in Un Ballo in Maschera, Echo in Gluck's Echo et Narcisse, Morgana in Händel’s Alcina, Olympia in Offenbach’s Les Contes d’Hoffmann, Cherubino in Le Nozze di Figaro, Giulietta in I Capuleti ei Montecchi, and Papagena in Die Zauberflöte.

    As a regular with the New York Gilbert & Sullivan Society and the Temple Israel Center Savoyards, Allegra has drawn on her experience in opera and her early training in musical theatre to bring life to leading ladies of operetta including Josephine in H.M.S. Pinafore, the title role of Patience, Casilda in The Gondoliers, Aline in The Sorcerer, Phyllis in Iolanthe, and even (as a lark) Mad Margaret in Ruddigore.

  • Immersive & Larp

    Allegra has become a regular in the New York City immersive theater scene, frequently working with such companies as Sinking Ship Creations, The Game Theatre, and Incantrix Productions as a facilitator for their interactive and immersive events.

  • Film & TV

    As a proud member of SAG-AFTRA, Allegra has worked on movies and TV shows including A Quiet Place, God Friended Me, and Rise.
